formed in the human body from glucose.
It is a component of O-linked and N-linked
glycosaminoglycans, which form the matrix of all connective
tissues, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, synovial fluid,
mucous membranes, structures in the eyes, blood vessels
and heart valves.
